“A 30-year veteran of higher ed, with more than 15 years of academic leadership experience, I am both passionate about and deeply committed to promoting the power and potential of our great public universities. Once and always a professor of civil engineering, I serve as Vice President for Research at Kansas State University. Before joining K-State, I served for six years as Provost & Senior Vice President at the University of Vermont, and prior to that as the Dean of Engineering at RPI and as Head of the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering at Texas A&M University. I write and speak about higher ed, leadership, governance, and change management.”

David Rosowsky’s writing on higher ed challenges and opportunities has appeared in Forbes, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inside Higher Ed, University Business, AGB Trusteeship magazine, AdWeek, and several other publication and media outlets. He writes through the lens of a hopeful optimist, as a strategic realist and someone who understands how universities function, evolve, and succeed.
